Our Dog's Life

Apparently, our dog has a fairly easy life. In fact, I would go as far as saying he's a spoiled hound. Here's a little peak into an email Nathan wrote me about Frodo going outdoors-

I am convinced that your dog, if we allowed it, would absolutely prefer his "walks" to consist of him being pushed in a stroller.

It's clear that he loves going outside. I look at him and say, "outdoors?", and he immediately hops up and starts wagging his tail in anticipation. We run downstairs, put on the harness, and venture outside.

Then, prince Frodo just STANDS THERE like a lump. He won't even go down the stairs. He just kind of looks up at me indignantly, waiting to be picked up and paraded around so that he can enjoy the fresh air without getting his paws on the yucky, dirty ground.

What a piece of work.

Gotta love Mister Frodo!!!

They're Back!!!

Today, September 1st, is the first day of Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Starbucks! We encourage everyone to go out and enjoy one today :-) Admittedly it's still a little warm outside, but totally worth it. Drink up!

Happy Birthday, Nathan!

It was Nathan's big 2-6 this weekend, so we had an awesome weekend celebrating.

First, Friday night we had a delicious dinner with his parents, and as usual, ML outdid herself! I don't think I've ever been so full :-)
And then Nathan opened gifts...
He's obsessed with the "Three Wolf Shirt" from Ben. Apparently it's popular online or something. My little nerd...gotta love him!
Then on Saturday, we went on a hike with the dogs. We originally wanted to go to Humpback Rock, but it was sooo hot we thought it wouldn't be healthy for the dogs. Perhaps next time...

This photo explains why my dad's dog Tori thinks Frodo is a bunny... "Nathan, you let Cooper in the water?"
"But it's my birthday..."
"Okay... But you're bathing him..."
Then Frodo jumped in! Who has ever met a Yorkie that likes to swim - and go after tennis balls the size of his head!
We cleaned up from the hike, accidentally took a little cat nap with the hounds, and then rushed off to our fabulous dinner on the Downtown Mall at the Downtown Grille. After, it was such a beautiful night, we strolled up the mall to the gelato place to grab a quick little snack. Perfect way to celebrate the 2-6!

Kluge Winery

Saturday, we drove out to Kluge Vineyard for a tasty and relaxing afternoon. On the way there, we past Jefferson and Monroe's homes - how often can you say that?

Here's the road to Monroe's house -

We finally made it to the vineyard, after countless stops (to Nathan's amusement?) so I could take photos the entire way there. One would think I was a tourist, however we live a few minutes away in town -

We ended up getting the wine and cheese pairing platter - delicious! What a perfect afternoon, we had so much fun!

Frodo getting in on the action (just kidding...) -
